Demon possession. Ermmmm…

It opens with one of the most disgusting scenes in TV history. I won’t post screensnaps of that. This is — spoiler — how it was done.

Outcasts01e010086

A guy who was tormented as a kid returns to live in his old family home in a small town. Everyone thinks his mother cracked up …

… and that he battered his own daughter.

Things are not so simple.

But did I care?

No.

The performances were good and the score by Atticus Ross is novel.

But I can’t see how this can be sustained on a weekly basis. I don’t care why he’s being targeted or if he’s the source of the demons himself.

Decide for yourself. The pilot is still available — legitimately — for free at the Cinemax site or YouTube.

It’s big failure on the part of Cinemax marketing that I didn’t know this has been available to see since May 20th.
