Aw, first Romero. Now Hooper. Someone protect John Carpenter and Roger Corman!
Tobe Hooper, Director of ‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,’ Dies at 74
I must confess that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is one of several well-known movies I’ve never seen. But it still cast a very large shadow in the 1970s. It was a regular midnight showing at one (maybe more) theater in New York City. The title alone freaked out people — me included.
Rest in peace.
