I’ve been keeping my eye on this one since it was announced too many damn Moons ago.
It’s taken so long to ship that cheap Chinese rip-off clones went on sale first!
It weighs a whopping 35lbs and is speed-limited to just 9mph despite it originally being shilled at a top speed of 15mph. I suspect if they give it the original speed, battery life — and hence range — will plummet.
It’s not self-balancing unless you’re not on it. It will balance itself, not you. That seems screwy to me.
I keep wondering how fast I’d wind up killing myself even trying this.
Oops!
In the video, he points out that it’s a lot of weight to drag up four flights of stairs to recharge.
That’s something I’ve been meaning to bring up for quite a while here. In NYC, there are many walk-ups that are 3, 4, 5 and even 6 flights of stairs. Do eScooter makers really expect people to drag their damn 25lb-plus eScooters up all those flights? That’s ridiculous. It’s shortsighted thinking from people who either live in buildings with elevators or are smugly encased in homes with garages. Portable electric transport for urban use needs to be luggable up flights of stairs. Go light or GTFOH.
