The Good Doctor: Microsoft HoloLens Surgery Rehearsal

Episode 9 of The Good Doctor last night featured the use of Microsoft HoloLens to trial a very difficult cardiac surgery.

Some screensnaps.

It’s unclear if that’s what would happen in real life.

As the script very intelligently pointed out, even the best simulations are no match for reality. Even the best scanning technology can’t measure everything yet. Human tactile sense and judgment had to come into play to complete the surgery.
