TechTablets Reviews Zoom Stryder Electric Scooter

Chris over at TechTablets is just about single-handedly keeping electric scooter posts in this blog. The field is otherwise quiet, with the dual-motor carbon fiber electric scooter still absent from the YouTube channel of Kurt V.

In the video after the break — and after the obligatory screensnaps! — Kurt reviews the Zoom Stryder. I’ve posted about this electric scooter before, praising it for having a very good promo video.

Does it live up to its hype video? Find out after the break …

… and after these screensnaps!

I’m going to skip interstitial commentary on these:

Again, this resembles the E-TWOW/Uscooter one a lot. That electric scooter is a real workhorse, and the Zoom Stryder is too. Both, unfortunately, weigh too much for my liking: 24 lbs. I can’t see anyone living in a NYC walk-up apartment being willing to haul that up stairs.

Now, the video:

I have a zoom stryder for 2 months. It’s a good scooter, light for its power and features (11kg for 500W motor and 280Wh battery) but it has a huge drawback: no support/warranty at all. My one came with a problem in the ESC (I cannot turn on the Turbo mode) and one month ago the rear light doesn’t turn off, even with the scooter off. I had to disconnect the light cable to avoid battery drain.
I tried to contact the support several times, by email, web site form and online chat. No answer at all. After receiving your payment, they vanish. You are on your own and good luck. And I’m not the only one complaining about it.

  2. Really pissed off says:

I changed the part on my scooter you sent to fix a electrical issue and a problwm with the throttle. The video you sent me to fix the issue was in Chinese and was so poor I couldn’t even see what they were doing but I managed to swap out the screen and the scooter turns on but the throttle still isn’t working. I have sent several emails over the past two weeks and have not received any response. and I have called but no answer. your customer service is terrible and I am left with a scooter that is less than 1 year old and will not work and a company that won’t respond. I want this fixed.
