ZTE confirms Axon 9 will be the Axon 7’s successor
The Axon 7 was the first affordable Google Daydream VR phone. But it came with two nasty surprises: The Android update for Daydream took way too long to appear. Second, the phone disappeared from shelves just months afterwards.
Everyone was expecting a new Axon 7 follow-up to be announced at CES. That didn’t happen. It left a lot of people — one of them being me — confused.
It seems ZTE decided to give some marketplace time to their dual-screen Axon M before announcing the successor to the 7.
Let’s all hope that when the 9 finally appears, it doesn’t disappear as quickly as the 7!
