I saw: 7 Boosted boards, 1 Acton board, 1 Evolve board, 1 Halo Board, 1 unidentified eScooter, 1 electric unicycle, and had my first in-real-life sighting of a Xiaomi-style eScooter. I say “Xiaomi-style” because there are now clones coming out (Archos and Swagtron, to start), Xiaomi doesn’t clearly brand the damn thing, and it was too far for me to ask the rider to stop for brand ID.
The bike path sightings were as I walked up to — and then back from — B&H Photo to do the Google Books PDF Test on the Huawei Mate SE. It wouldn’t do it. It squawked several times along the lines of “Google Account Not Found, Terminating Application.” I gave up after several tries. It probably doesn’t matter. Huawei is probably dead in phones: Huawei has been building its substitute to Android for a rainy day. Is that day looming?. Next!
Weekend reading was:
Do the Work by Steven Pressfield. A must-have for anyone about to start any kind of endeavor. It’s up there with the must-have books by Max Gunther.
The Big Tiny: A Built-It-Myself Memoir by Dee Williams. This book was a delight to read.
Tiny House Basics: Living the Good Life in Small Spaces by Joshua and Shelley Engberg. Some good information in here.
