A better-late-than-never YouTube Recommendation:
At an October 5, 2018 advance screening of the new Queen film ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ San Francisco celebrity interviewer Liam Mayclem chatted with Rami Malek, Gwilym Lee and Joe Mazzello, three of the stars of the Fox/Regency biopic about Freddie Mercury and the band.
The Castro Theatre screening included an opening act, a live set by Killer Queens, the all-women Queen tribute band. Apologies for the wobbly camera work!
While I’ll refrain from offering a critical review here, I will say that longtime Queen fans will enjoy the film, which covers Mercury and the band’s lives from the early 1970s to their epic Live Aid performance in 1985.
It was nice to see so many younger fans in attendance, assuring a new surge of popularity for Queen among people who weren’t even born when the band rose (and re-rose) to fame and acclaim around the world.

Hey, Fox movie people! Any advance screening free tix? Well, I can hope! Grumble …
