Chuwi Offers Strings-Attached “Free” MiniBook Fast Charger

I really hate it when companies misuse the word “free.”

Here is Chuwi doing it:

If you’re telling people to do something to get something, it’s not giving them anything for free. It’s asking for a trade.

Back when Sony was in eBooks, they pulled this with a “free” eBook. Wanting people to enter an email address to get it. I yelled at them about it. To their credit, they dropped the email address trade. Chuwi should have labeled this as a bonus, not something for free.
