I feel this. I’ve been laid off 5 times. Had to consult for a living during a dry spell – which was okay! That’s when we “met”! I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. But it was hard on me and hard on my kids.
Lately, I made my own choice, and I was scared out of my wits to do so. Usually that decision was made for me. But don’t kid yourself – it’s never really within your control. Capitalism being what it is.
