Oculus Go’s Late Shipping Is Bad For VR

Oculus announces $199 ‘Oculus Go’ standalone headset

Onstage at Oculus Connect 4 in San Jose, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a new mobile headset called “Oculus Go.”

According to Zuck, “it’s the most accessible VR headset yet;” it starts at $199 and it’s going to ship early next year.

That’s a Big Fat FAIL.

It needs to be out for this holiday season.

The VR world has gotten out of sync. We’re supposed to have VR180 cameras out in time for this holiday season. What will people view their footage on? Crappy headsets that could ruin the experience and tie up their phone?

VR has fallen into a pit.
